Review the insurer, policy wording, licensing and claim process under the rules applicable in Kuwait or Egypt.
Insurance across Kuwait and Egypt
A policy or market-entry plan has to be assessed against the relevant insurer, activity and jurisdiction. We help businesses frame questions about policy wording, reinsurance, distribution arrangements, licensing and claims, with Kuwaiti and Egyptian requirements assessed separately.
Kuwait: verify the cover
Kuwait’s Insurance Regulation Law No. 125 of 2019 makes licensing and the class of insurance an early check. The Insurance Regulatory Unit maintains the current register and decisions; a broker’s pitch or old certificate is no substitute. The policy schedule, endorsements, exclusions, notice duties and supporting records must be read together. If a claim is refused, identify the precise clause and facts relied on before choosing negotiation, complaint or proceedings.
Egypt: market entry and supervision
Egypt’s Unified Insurance Law No. 155 of 2024 places establishment, licensing and supervision of covered insurance activities with the Financial Regulatory Authority. A new entrant should first define the actual activity: insurer, reinsurer, intermediary or another related service. The applicable FRA decisions and the proposed corporate structure need a current check before anyone promises a route to market.
Cross-border coordination
Founded in Kuwait in 1986 with a branch in Egypt, the firm covers MENA through cooperation with partner offices, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, and has partner offices in Turkey and the United States. A partner office is not a branch of the firm; local advice is coordinated with the relevant office and current rules.
