Compliance & Regulatory

Trace real approvals, exceptions and evidence before judging whether a compliance policy works.

Test the written control

Choose a real supplier onboarding, contract approval or expense and trace it from request to decision, payment and retained record. Compare the steps people actually took with the current policy. If a named approver is absent or a required review cannot be shown, identify whether the workflow or the policy must change.

Exceptions, evidence and accountability

Assign an owner for approvals, exceptions, conflicts and escalation. Keep dated policy versions, training records and an explanation for any deviation. A signed acknowledgement is not proof that a control works; retest a sample transaction after a fix. Preserve the old evidence separately so a later review can see what changed rather than only the new process.

When a concern is raised

A report is not a finding. Preserve original files and messages, restrict access to those who need them and use a reviewer without a personal conflict. Separate established facts, disputed points and decisions still open. Counsel can assess confidentiality, employment issues and any external reporting duty under the rules relevant to the actual activity and jurisdiction before notices or public statements are made.
